Study on impact of Joint Forest Management

Assisted byDr.Ajit Banerjee to disseminate the findings of the study on "Impact of Joint Forest Management on Livelihood of People living on the Forest Fringes in S.W. districts of West Bengal. The study was conducted by Dr. Banerjee along with Ramakrishna Mission LokSikshaParishad in collaboration with University of East Anglia, UK and supported by Forest Department. ASED organized a meeting with officials of the forest, agriculture, small-scale industries, education, health, social welfare and tribal affairs departments of West Bengal, academicians, NGOs and others to discuss the solutions and implementation measures converging with other livelihood development.

We have worked with them on a short-term action-based awareness programme for three schools adjoining the water body SantragachiJheel in Howrah, West Bengal to create awareness, among school students about the importance of this water body for waterfowl and wetland conservation.

They partly sponsored the ASED Foundation Day celebrations.

Have jointly done a project "Conservation Awareness Programme for school children living on the periphery of the Sunderban Tiger Reserve" in collaboration with Forest Department, Sunderbans, and West Bengal and sponsored by Oriental Bird Club, UK. Assisted in a vulture census in West Bengal
