Citizen Naturalist

An initiative by ASED for adults to Explore, Enjoy, Engage! With nature rich urban green spaces; pockets of paradise amidst the hustle and the bustle of the city. Through our interactive walks conducted by experts, participants will get to attune their senses to the enchanting sounds and sights of nature, and have lots of fun!

After conducting various flagship programs for students from 8 - 18 years, we have found that the adults also need an avenue to connect with nature and feel the joy of curiosity, a sense of adventure that nature so selflessly offers. Whether its rekindling childhood memories of being outdoors (wild and free!), or experiencing the satisfaction of observing, studying, and being able to name the birds and plants that share space with us, our new program "Citizen Naturalist" has something for everyone.

Seeing green spaces shrink in our biodiversity rich city, with Citizen Naturalist, we hope to open up a whole new world where you get to explore the nature at your doorstep. We launched the program with our first series of Forest Adventure Walk in Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary, Narendrapur on 1st July, 2018 and another one on 29th July,2018 at the same spot. Stay tuned for other exciting Citizen Naturalist initiatives in places like Rabindra Sarobar lake, Alipore Zoo, Botanical Gardens, and many more pockets of paradise amidst the hustle and the bustle of the city.
